Joyce Pauline Ernst, age 82 of Morrison, formerly of Sterling, died Friday, August 23, 2019 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Morrison.

Joyce was born on May 10, 1937 in Sterling, the daughter of Dean and Mildred (Wagenknecht) Pyse. She married Alan E. Ernst on July 3, 1954. Joyce worked as an LPN for several years.

Survivors include her husband, Alan; her son, Lee (Lauren) Ernst of Davenport, IA; four sisters, Joan (Janna) Pyse, Jeanie (Carl Dean) Mattingly, Debbie (Randy) Aronson and Wendy (Craig) Stralow; two brothers, Ted (Dot) Pyse and David (Michelle) Pyse; seven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Timothy Ernst; her daughter, Pamela Schroeder; two babies in infancy; and five siblings, Judith Estes, Charlotte Doan, Peggy Karash, Cheryl "Sue" Chapell and Dennis Pyse.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
