Edith A. Elmendorf, 101 of Sterling died Monday October 14, 2019 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

She was born on August 14, 1918 in Brainerd, MN the daughter of Henry Estel and Fannie Irene (Heikens) Wilson. She married Kenneth Homer Elmendorf on November 3, 1934 in Clinton. He died June 15, 1989. She later married Lawrence Price Elmendorf on July 30, 1994. He died March 2, 2007. Edith was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She had served many years ago as a past Brownie and Girl Scout leader in Como; a past member of the Erie Boat Club, the Galt Grange and the Kings Daughters. She had enjoyed gardening and ceramic painting.

Survivors include three daughters: Lorain (Donald) Lewis of Rock Falls, Karen Allen of Sterling and Maryann Zimmerly of Rock Falls; one son Gary (Kathy) Elmendorf of Prophetstown; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Leola, Doris, Betty and Donna Sue; three brothers: Hobert, Dale and Ray; and two grandsons: Brad Lewis and Brian Elmendorf.

Visitation will be Monday October 21, 2019 from 12 – 1 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. The funeral will follow at 1 PM with the Reverend John Lewis officiating. Burial will conclude at Riverside Cemetery, Sterling.
