Jean L. Bogott, 88, of Dixon, died on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

Jean was born on November 13, 1928 in Sterling the daughter of William A. and Hazel (Geiger) Maynard. She was united in marriage to Lyle C. Bogott on August 3, 1947 in Rock Falls.

Jean worked at J.C. Penney in Sterling for 12 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dixon and the United Methodist Women. Jean enjoyed making cookies and candy for others. She was a very thoughtful, strong and patient person. In her spare time Jean liked her spring planting of flowers and plants. Jean along with Lyle was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Her easy going attitude was loved by all and her signature saying "whatever" summed up her loving and giving nature. She adored her family and loved them very much.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband of almost 70 years, Lyle, of Dixon; 2 daughters, Sally ( Keane) Hudson of Dixon and Jacci Bogott of League City, Texas; a son Douglas Bogott of Alvin, Texas; a sister Dottie (Stan) Conboy of Rock Falls and a brother Bill Maynard of Rock Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Doris Snitchler.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at 1st United Methodist Church in Dixon. A memorial service will follow at Noon at the church with Pastor Tim Mitchell and Pastor Kim Hee Won, co-officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Dixon Food Pantry or Veteran's Memorial Park in Dixon.
