STERLING – Mark W. Smith, 64 died Thursday November 18, 2021 at his home.

He was born on January 11, 1957 in Sterling, the son of Donald Lloyd and Ronetta L. (Anspach) Smith. Mark was a 1975 graduate of Rock Falls High School. He married Teresa Smith on September 22, 1979 in Rock Falls. He was employed at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co and later Alcoa. Mark was very proud of his sons and of their achievements. He participated in many Scouting adventures.. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and snowmobiling.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa; his sons: Scott (Jen) Smith and Brad (Erika) Smith; his grandchildren: Gabriella, Grayson, Camden and Mason; his mother, Ronetta Smith; his sisters: Sharon (Bill) Brauer and Karen (Brett) Melton; and his beloved chocolate lab "Hailee".

He was preceded in death by his father and infant brother Scott Allen Smith.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 23, 2021 from 11-12:30 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow at 12:30 PM with the Reverend Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made in his memory to Gaffey Home and Hospice
